The Many Faces Of James Lomenzo
With the recent ousting of James Lomenzo, or whatever happened, I got to thinking about something I wrote about him awhile ago. In fact it was only a year and three days ago that I wrote it. It was originally posted at Metal Martyr and part of another post, but I picked apart the section about Lomenzo.
Now I’m not picking on or disrespecting James Lomenzo here. He’s a great Bass player, but I started to look at his history and images of the like and found it kind of funny. Lomenzo during his White Lion days took on the semi-glammish look of White Lion. No big deal, that was the look back then in bands like that. Then I kind of remembered him in Black Label Society, with David Lee Roth and now Megadeth. Check it out.

Dave Mustaine Going To Great Lengths To Make Amends: Dave Ellefson Returns To Megadeth
I don’t know what exactly has happened, but who cares. Dave Ellefson is BACK IN MEGADETH! I honestly didn’t believe it at first when I read it at Spinelanguage a short moment ago. I thought my emotions were being fucked with. Seriously. So I click on the Megadeth news subscription in my Google reader and sure as shit; Dave Ellefson is back. Not sure how this transpired. Right now I don’t care, but it was kind of funny because about 3 months ago it seemed like Mustaine was talking trash about him. Now I know I need to make an effort to go see them with Exodus and Testament next month. Now, if only Nick and Marty would return. Nah, I’m just kidding. I like Chris and Sean. As you can see, we’re all on a first name basis here. Here is the presser.
Megadeth founder and frontman Dave Mustaine has announced the return of original bassist David Ellefson (1983-2002) to the iconic multi-platinum group. This reunion is appropriately timed to Megadeth’s upcoming historic month-long Rust In Peace 20th anniversary tour which launches March 1 in Spokane, WA. At these incredibly special shows, Megadeth will play their landmark, genre-defining 1990 album Rust In Peace in its entirety, in addition to other Megadeth favorites. Read the rest of this entry »

So You Want To Get A Tattoo? Part 2: Basic Tattoo Care
No, this picture is NOT me. Almost two years ago, I wrote an article on Metal Martyr called “So You Want T0 Get A Tattoo“? I recently got an old, bad tattoo covered because I just didn’t think it would flow well with my new place of employment. No, it wasn’t a gang related tattoo or anything like that. It just wasn’t a good tattoo and I’ve been wanting to cover it for years anyway. I got the tattoo covered last Tuesday and it has been the fastest healing tattoo I have ever had. Not only that, but it was a lot of ink and fairly large. I got to wondering why it would heal faster than any other tattoo that I have had and the answer was quite simple. I’ll get to that in a bit. Here are the basics that I set down before. After that, I set down some very basic tattoo care tips. Read the rest of this entry »
Heavy Metal Happy Hour: The Ripper
Obviously it’s Saturday and I’m just feeling lazy enough to post a couple of bullshit videos. So, here is The Master Of Metal covering the classic Judas Priest tune, The Ripper from 1976’s Sad Wings Of Destiny.
These Guys Are Going Places
That is, places where nobody wants to go. “Yeah, guys, I can sing. In fact I’m totally awesome. Just book us a gig”!
Post-Apocalypse Movies Are Metal: The Road Movie Review
Cormac McCarthy writes some really crazy stuff. Look at No Country For Old Men. Chances are you saw the movie but didn’t read the book. Imagine reading that story on paper. Though the movie was pretty good, I imagine the book was even better. They almost always are.
I read The Road last year and I stayed up very late many nights because it was very hard to put down. The movie on the other hand, well, not so much. Again you get the basic idea that this is a post-apocalyptic movie, but it seems so rushed you miss a lot of the little things that the book has to offer. The movie, especially if you didn’t read the book, will leave you with many questions and a bit of confusion.
The barren land that is in the movie would probably best describe the way a real post apocalyptic Earth would be. Populations decimated, a sunless sky, contaminated water and shortage of food supplies. On top of that you have the people of little moral value, cannibalizing and hording people for their food supply. Read the rest of this entry »
Get ‘Forced To Rock’ By Playing This Arsis Game
Arsis have a Guitar Hero-ish game now. It’s quite simple. Use your number pad at the top of your keyboard to hit the notes. You can also choose to strum too. To do that, you will have to play the game at Jamlegend. Try playing legendary. You probably won’t be able to, but try it just once. Have fun.
