Blood Oath = Best Death Metal Album Of 2009?
Update: Read My Full Review Of Blood Oath HERE.
While I’m highly anticipating the release of Suffocation’s Blood Oath, Peter of the local one-man death metal outfit Bloodsoaked said that he didn’t really care for it when he heard a leaked copy of the album. I think he said it was the guitars that he didn’t like. That’s coming from a dude that is in to a lot of death metal from all over and under. Is that going to stop me from buying the album when it comes out? Never!
However, I was almost convinced by the sticker on the outside of the new Wretched album that The Exodus Of Atonomy was the best death metal album of 2009. That’s because their label, Victory Records said so. Yeah, Victory has claimed that one of their own band’s records is the best in class. That sticker actually made me laugh when I saw it, right above “For fans of”, which Victory is well known for doing. ( Wretched’s The Exodus Of Atonomy is a really cool Death Metal album though).
Metalsuck.net contributor, “David Bee Roth” did a review of Blood Oath and says that it’s the best death metal album of 2009. He doesn’t add much for a track-by-track and it’s a great to-the-point review. 99.999% of the time I agree with his reviews as well. This, again, will probably be one of those times.
Will Suffocation’s Blood Oath be the best death metal album of 2009? There is still quite some time left in the year for other great releases, but I’m willing to bet it will be in my top 20 after I hear it.

Greatings, Ugh, I liked! So clear and positively.
I really like the new Suffocation and so far I think is the best death metal I heard this year and it should end on my top 10 year list. Also, the new Obscura was awesome. Also Nile and Behemoth are both comming with a new album.
I really can’t believe how long I’ve been searching for this information. Finally something worth reading.
