Arch Enemy Rips Off Megadeth…Again.
This morning I was listening to the new Arch Enemy Re-recordings on The Root Of All Evil. I was digging the first song, Beast Of Man, when I suddenly hear this solo that sounds so familiar. I just knew that I had heard the almost exact same solo on a Megadeth record and it only took me a few nano-seconds to know that it came off of Hangar 18. Check out the video I made and you’ll see.
I’m pretty sure that I’m probably not the first person to recognize this but it seems almost spot on to NOT recognize it, especially if you’re a Megadeth fan. This isn’t the first time that Arch Enemy has been [informally]accused of ripping off Megadeth. Their song Burning Angel from 2001’s Wage of Sin starts off sounding like Hangar 18 too. You can check that out HERE. There are some other songs that people have said have bits and pieces that sound like Megadeth as well.
I know some bands may “borrow” riffs and influences from other bands and Jimmy Page stole a bunch of shit from old blues guitarist, but this solo in Beast Of Man hides nothing. Hell, even the backing rhythm riff sounds close. What do you think?

I agree that it is very similar, but i don’t think it is wrongdoing. It is different enough to work. I have definately heard other bands ripping each other off that were way worse (expecially in the older metal days)
The only BIG difference is the gap between solo parts on Hangar 18. I almost took that slight gap out of there but i left it so you could here the rhythm as well and notice that it sounds very similar.
even the backing riff :dada DA-DA dada DA-DA is the same
ohhh SW is scott
See, I knew I wasn’t the only one. A lot of Arch Enemy fans are in denial over on the youtube page. I also found where two people had commented about it sounding very similar in the comments section of the official video on youtube.
