The Last Hooked! Podcast October 10th 2009
The last Hooked! Podcast? I’m afraid so, but we’ll get to that in a minute.
A really good playlist in my opinion. It’s a great mix of all things metal. I actually pre-recorded the songs last Thursday to save me some time and I think it worked out well for me. I don’t know why I never thought of it before. The playlist is below. Hopefully you can appreciate the music and it will turn you on to a few new bands. If you already knew and are a fan of all of these bands, then kudos to you! Now about the “Last” podcast remark…
I explained in the podcast that this is my last pod cast and will also be the last week I’ll be updating Hook In Mouth. As I explain in the podcast, I have a lot on my plate and it’s my own fault. I love blogging about metal but there are some priorities I have to get straight in my life. I want to focus more on my own music and actually put the music equipment I have to good use and become a better musician and try to get back in to a better state of health and physical fitness; something I’ve let slide since blogging in the last two years. In order to do that I have to let go of something and blogging is my biggest time consumer. It wasn’t an easy decision but it’s one I am confident in. I’ll be posting a few last reviews that I feel I am obligated to do as I’ve already downloaded the advance albums from Metal Blade and Prosthetic records, so I feel I owe them that much.
I appreciate all the avid readers of Hook In Mouth but I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do. Thank you Alex (Wherever you are) for you contributions, and everyone that has commented in the past. It’s been fun.
- Alabama Thunderpussy – The Beggar
- Antagonist – Awake
- Anthrax – Only
- Dreaming Dead – Within one
- Entombed – Out Of hand
- Daath – The unbinding Truth
- Goatwhore – Razor Flesh Devoured
- Malefice – As I Bleed
- Suffocation – Dismal Dream
- Megadeth – This Day We Fight
- 3 inches of Blood – Battles And Brotherhood

It’s gonna be a shame to see you leave, yours is one of the sites that auto-loads as soon as I open my browser. You’ve written great articles and reviews both on metalmartyr and here, and I hope you’ll eventually come back to blogging when you get yourself situated.
Good luck in doing what you need to do, bro. \m/
Thanks, Eric. Perhaps if I ever get a wild hair up my ass I’ll send you a review or editorial as a guest post if you like. I’ll still continue to troll around metal blogs and comment as I may.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo *cries* – it’s a sad day for Metal
nooooo say it aint so!!!!
sorry to hear it, i guess i’ll have to turn to some of the other sites out there. Hope you let us know if you ever return to the scene.
Thanks for all the info/prizes/opinions. You turned me onto many bands i wouldn’t have noticed without you
Hey, even though it’s been a long time for me to come back to visit, I guess I have come back at a sad moment. I know you will miss the blogging and we will definitely miss you. I had to make a similar decision about letting go of something that I really liked to do everyday and it took over my life, anyways I think you are doing the right thing and I hope in the future you can always come back and start posting with a better alignment of things in your life. \m/ Good luck on everything that you hope to achieve \m/.
I’ll miss ya man, yours is the only Metal blog I’ve put in my RSS Reader! I’m gonna have to find some more to add to the list, but I hope you do come back some day!
I’d hang onto the domain in case you ever do decide to return, it can be a pain or nigh impossible to get them back if someone else snags it, the $8 a year might be worth it!
Best of luck in your journeys and let me know if you ever need a hand! \m/
seriously youre one of the few bloggers i read who have personality. i feel like i actually know you man. gunna miss you. use the commentors email to send something out if you ever start writing again. best of luck in life
I’m sad to see you go. You had a really good thing going here. you’re reviews were concise and informative. you opened me up to a lot of new metal I would not have checked out before, so thanks for that and thanks for all your help with my band back when.
Dale, Haven’t seen a comment from you in ages!
I may still post the occasional review until the domain expires and maybe even a podcast every now and then if I find the time.
Giles, I’ve been turned on to a lot of bands from the readers here and at metal martyr too. I just need some time to get some things in order and maybe when I get those things back in line I can blog about metal again. Doesn’t mean I won’t be keeping myself up to date and will probably even allow more time to actually listen to more instead of constantly writing about it. We’ll see. Thanks.
