Nonpoint’s 5 Minutes Alone Cover

dimetributeI’m not a fan of Nonpoint and I don’t know any of their songs, but the vocals on their cover of Pantera’s 5 Minutes Alone cover for the Dimebag Tribute CD sound kind of out of place.

They posted the song on Their Myspace and the track will be released as a special online bonus track with the Metal Hammer 200th Issue being released on December 16th. Kinda worries me about the rest of the bands. Honestly I think there will only be a few tracks that I will actually like, seeing that there are only a few bands covering them that I do dig. Have to wait and see.

    Awful…just awful.

  • The guitars don’t sound too bad but the vocals just ruin it for me. I think it’s because Phil just had that gritty voice. Also the guitar tone does sound a bit too clean and there doesn’t seem to be enough bottom end that really gave that song the balls that it originally had.

I can’t think of any reason to listen to this version over the original

I would expected other bands such as… morbid angel? … but a little bit faster.

    mmm…

Just for fun, Ozzy should have been invited only to see the “making of…” DVD to see him trying to learn the lyrics.

Biohazard is a good surprise, their vocals may be clear too but they impregnate a similar energy, besides, two signers will be interesting.
