Fox News Knows Metal? Cobalt Frontman Interviewed On The Red Eye

No, even though they feature Gwar’s Oderus Urungus every now and then. Fox News and every anchor there is a douchebag. To solidify this statement you can view the video below where Fox New Red Eye corespondent Doug Gutfield interviews Cobalt frontman Phil McSorley and talks about their 2009 release, Gin. Now if it wasn’t for the fact that McSorely is in the U.S. Army, I don’t think Fox News would really give a fuck about them. Below the video are some points to ponder upon:

  • The anchors pretending to bang their heads, liking the song but being ever so careful as to not mess up their hair.
  • The fact that the video’s title is “Army Officer Fronts Metal Band”, just goes to show that Fox News is retarded.
  • The fact that Gutfield says about the album “So basically it’s about killing”.
  • Gutfield calls the metal magazines that Cobalt was featured in as not being particularly “Uber Patriotic”. Um, Why and what the fuck does that have to do with anything?
  • Gutfield tries to discuss the sub-genre of Cobalt as if he knows jack shit about metal subgenres.
  • Gutfield say “He knows riffs like I know spliffs”. WTF? Does he even know what that means?
  • Cat-fucking-fancy ranks metal albums?

    • giles:

the man-anchor has a pretty good point. “arsonry” is not a word

    • lol. Can’t argue with him there.

    • [...] Leon’s overall point in the article was that Metallica and Queensryche ruined the metal movement with Empire and The Black album. While I can’t really argue with that and many other great points in the article, I just think that “Don’t Tread On Me” was dissected a bit too much and peoples perception of patriotism is warped, especially after hearing Colbalt’s frontman and that retard from Fox news talk about it.
