Comatose Presser follows:

decimation

Hailing from Turkey, Decimation joins forces with Comatose Music to release their second full length CD titled “Anthems of an Empyreal Dominion” this Summer. Technical brutal death metal performed at a superior level focused on the dark side of Sumerian myth while reflecting its chaos and obscurity. A new degree of raging intensity has been reached by Decimation with this upcoming CD. Mastered by Colin Davis at Imperial Mastering Studios. This CD will be an absolute ‘must have’ for fans of Immolation, Deeds of Flesh, Hate Eternal and Nile.

Exodus Post New Song And Track List On Myspace

exhibit bSeems to me the only good thing about Myspace these days is hearing new tracks from bands with upcoming albums. Other than that, Myspace is pretty irrelevant as it tries more and more to be like Facebook. On to the story. Exodus have posted the tracklisting and a new song (Hammer And Life) from their upcoming album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition. Exhibit B is obviously the follow-up to 2007’s The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A. You can hear the new song on Myspace or you can actually download it on Nuclear Blasts Sinister Spring Slaughter for free from Amazon. Keep an eye out at Nuclear Blast’s Webshop for exclusive preorders and packages for Exhibit B. Tracklist after the fold. Read the rest of this entry »

War Of Ages Eternal Pre-Order

woaeternalpoWar Of Ages, one of the few Christian Metalcore bands that I really like, is readying to release their 4th album, Eternal. The follow up to 2008’s Arise And Conquer feature guest vocals from another Christian metalcore band. As I Lay Dying’s Tim Lambesis contributes vocals to the first single, Desire, which can be heard on War Of Ages Myspace.

Facedown Records has started the preorder process of the album, to be released on April 13 and is including a contest where you can win a test print of the limited vinyl release.  The stone colored vinyl is limited to 500 copies and everyone that preorders the vinyl or any other combination of the release will be entered to win 1 of only 5 copies of the original test vinyl of Eternal.

Must Be A Good Day For Videos: High On Fire Debut Frost Hammer Video

Pitchfork.com debuted High On Fire’s new video for Frost Hammer today. The single comes off of their latest release on E1 music, Snakes Of The Devine. A pretty cool video, but I don’t think I have ever seen Matt Pike with a shirt on.

Hemoptysis: Shadow Of Death Video

Hemoptysis released their Who Needs A Shepard EP back in February of last year. They were in the MetalInsider/Scion sponsored No Need For A Label Contest, which ended recently and most recently released their video for the single Shadow Of Death. The video features Chris Cannella of Autumn’s End, N17 and product Manager of Jackson Guitars. You can find their Ep on iTunes and Amazon as well as other Mp3 outlets. You can read the entire press release (originally from Networkordie.com) after the fold.

Don’t Support Terrorism. Buy American…

I don’t “partake” anymore, but if I did, I would buy American…or Canadian maybe.

Firewind: I Don’t Give A Fuck. This Band Rules

So I’m kind of going through my iTunes and I come across Firewind’s The Premonition and I can’t help but play it. Firewind rules. Power metal or whatever you want to call them, their music is stellar. Stellar is not a word I use often but this band doesn’t seize to amaze me since seeing them a year or two ago.

Gus G’s guitar work along with Babis Katsionis guitar and keyboard work and Apollo’s vocals just make me happy in the pants. Allegiance is another great album. See them live, lsiten to The Premonition and Allegience as well as their older albums and enjoy. Here is their video for Head Up High. Though Apollo’s body odor was quite overwhelming (rigors of the road, I’m sure) when I met him, he’s a phenomenal frontman and they are a great live band and I was amazed when I saw them in 2008.

The Future is Uncertain…

What the fuck does that mean, right? Well times are tough and in the next coming months this blog may not exist anymore. Again, due to time constraints and financial issues, I may not renew the domain.

It’s a tough economy and my wife just lost all of her blogging jobs because the media outlet she was working for has decided to take another direction and has fired close to 100 bloggers. Notice Metal Martyr (Which used to be a great blog IMO and a fairly good source of income when I blogged there) has not been updated since January. Now I am again the sole provider for the family and every cent is crucial.

On another note, I have been contributing an article here and there at my new favorite up-and-coming blog, The Number of the Blog as “EvilivE“, which has an amazing, diverse crew of writers that love everything metal. I tried to get other writers for HookInMouth to diversify it as well, but they have come and gone and not really contributed much and have quit without any kind of notification. (Thanks guys, that’s really cool of you).

I have tried the ad outlet for generating revenue to support this blog , but I only get paid when people actually buy something from the ads, which never happens. I understand that ads are a royal pain in the ass and people don’t generally click or buy from ads, so I never really expected much to begin with. It would have been nice to be able to generate some money to pay a writer or two, but I never got paid myself and always did it strictly out of love for metal. I thought about hiring someone out of my own pocket, but that is out of the question now. So, the last resort is to shut my baby down and to do things as time allows.

Keep tuning in and I’ll keep posting until the time comes to hang it up. After that, I’ll be posting whenever they let me over at The Number of the Blog, which is growing at a rapid rate and has plenty of great content, again from a bunch of cool writers that want nothing more than to spread the metal word. Thanks.

Levi/Werstler Post Another Song To Tease Your Ears

LWAvalancheDaath’s Eyal Levi and Emil Werstler have posted another song from their April 20th release, Avalanche Of Worms on the ThirDegreeMerch page that they originally posted Dura Mater on.. The Obsidian Fissure sounds to be another great track from this highly anticipated album. It’s not the entire song, but just a clip. You can still listen to Dura Mater in its entirety on their Myspace page.
