Must Be A Good Day For Videos: High On Fire Debut Frost Hammer Video

Pitchfork.com debuted High On Fire’s new video for Frost Hammer today. The single comes off of their latest release on E1 music, Snakes Of The Devine. A pretty cool video, but I don’t think I have ever seen Matt Pike with a shirt on.

Katatonia: Longest Year Video

With the upcoming release of their Longest Year Ep, Katatonia has made the following video to the title track from Ep. Longest Year comes very shortly after the release of 2009’s Night Is The New Day, which just came out back in November. Sadly it only contains two new songs and a different version of Day And Then The Shade and Idle Blood, along with the video below and the video for Day And Then The Shade. Chances are that everyone will download it anyway, but Night Is The New Day is definitely worth the buy.

Down’s Ghosts Along The Mississippi Covered By Kids Cooler Than You And I

Of course it doesn’t take much to be cooler than me, but these kids have talent. They are students of Aaron O’Keefe Music Instruction and recorded this at Chicago Recording Company in Chicago, Illinois in October ‘09. According to Blabbermouth.net, Phil Anselmo found the cover quite flattering.

Band members are Drew Lowry on vocals, Sam Parsons on Bass guitar, John Donnell, Andrew Alten and Erik Michelfelder on guitars and lastly, Sam Ruschman on the drums.

Lazarus A.D.: Absolute Power Video

I don’t think Lazarus A.D. are going anywhere, any time soon. These guys release a very solid thrash record through Metal Blade earlier last year and have been touring machines ever since, sometimes filling open slots at the last minute when other bands drop off of a tour. A year or so later and they are releasing their 3rd video from The Onslaught. I must say though, that cage [or underground street] fighting in metal videos is becoming a bit redundant. Oh well. Hopefully we’ll be able to hear some new material from the band in the next year or so.

Isn’t February Black Metal History Month Or Something?

VBS.tv ran a documentary on “True Norwegian Black Metal”. It runs about 32 minutes, so sit back and get slightly educated in black metal. Seems like more of a history of Gaahl and Gorgoroth to me.

A Werewolf In Dreadlocks: Shadows Fall Bark AT The Moon Video

I gotta hand it to the guys in Shadows Fall. Their cover for Ozzy’s classic Bark At The Moon was pretty damn good. The video only complemented the song by following the original video the best you could 27 years later. I still think Ozzy looked the better werewolf.

Heavy Metal Happy Hour: The Ripper

Obviously it’s Saturday and I’m just feeling lazy enough to post a couple of bullshit videos. So, here is The Master Of Metal covering the classic Judas Priest tune, The Ripper from 1976’s Sad Wings Of Destiny.
