Who The Fuck Is Tommy Iommi?

Bill_WardSo Bill Ward went on a rant about his interview in the London Times taking his words out of context, like most douche-bag journalists do. Some piss-ant from the Times interviewed the Founding drummer of Black Sabbath and totally proved just how retarded, uninformed and totally NOT a fan of Black Sabbath. How you say? Well, this fucknut called Tony Iommi; Tommy Iommi. (Correction: The “Tommy” Iommi thing was in a sidebar thing that is no longer visable. I can’t find it anyway.) So whoever wrote that is the retarded and uninformed fucknut; but the guy(s) that wrote the article are still douches.

In all seriousness, if I were ever to start a Black Sabbath tribute band…my stage name would so be TOMMY FUCKING IOMMI!!! Read The London Times Interview and then read Bill Wards word on it.

Black Sabbath Downloadable Content For Guitar Hero 5. Here Is A Better Idea…

  1. sabbathBuy a guitar
  2. Go to Ultimate-Guitar.com
  3. Learn to play Sabbath songs on a REAL guitar.

Trust me; it’s more rewarding learning the real thing instead of sitting in front of a television with guitar hero, which will eventually get boring. Don’t get me wrong; I used to love Guitar Hero. In all honestly though, it made me pick up my guitar and start learning to be a better player and appreciate the real thing even more.

Black Sabbath songs are not that difficult. Tony Iommi was and still is an amazing riff writer and he doesn’t try to over-complicate things with tweedle-dee-dee and needley-needley sounds. You can learn all of the song Black Sabbath in a day and with a little practice you’ll be playing all of the singles in no time.

I can’t play Guitar Hero on Expert or even Hard for that matter, but I can find my way around a fretboard better than most GH players. Try 6 strings and 24 frets some time, instead of 5 buttons and a strum bar. It’s a whole new world of possibilities.

I Am Ozzy: Ozzy Osbourne Autobiography Review

I Am OzzyIt usually takes a really good book for me to read from cover to cover in two weeks. I normally don’t make a lot of time for myself when it comes to reading, so when a really good book grips me, I always seem to find little slivers of time that turn in to hours of reading pleasure. I Am Ozzy was one of those books that was really hard to put down.

The book starts out where most autobiographies do. Right from the get-go Ozzy is telling us of his poverty ridden childhood at 14 Lodge Road in Aston, United Kingdom. From growing up in a house with no indoor toilet to going to school and being harassed by certain teachers, Ozzy life doesn’t seem too far from the ordinary person that may have grown up in post-war Great Britain. He had good parents that provided the best they could while he tried to find his purpose in life. He makes it quite obvious that he was never cut out for typical labor and a professional occupation was pretty much out of the question due to his dyslexia and learning curve. Ozzy even spent some time in prison when he couldn’t pay a fine for a burglary. Read the rest of this entry »

Hooked! Sabbath Cast

sabbathcastNo commentary on this one, but I will give a little foreword to it. The first time I heard and acknowledged Black Sabbath, I was just getting into heavier and heavier music. Sure I heard the name a thousand times but I was pretty young and just never thought about it much. Growing up in a small town as I did, Sabbath was always labeled as one of those “Devil music” bands. I heard Ozzy’s Bark At The Moon and a few song from Blizzard Of Ozz a couple of times, but back in the late 80′s I was mainly in to Aerosmith, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Those were the main bands I could dig up in my hick town. I started listening to a radio station out of the Utica/Rome NY area and back then they played all sorts of stuff out of the  norm of your average small city station. The first time I heard Iron Man’s opening riff, it changed my life. The first chance I got I went out and bought Paranoid on cassette tape and wore that thing out from side A to B, ’cause that album is classic and every song is amazing. From then on it only got heavier and 20+ years later I can still listen to it like it’s the first time. Read the rest of this entry »

Sample A Chapter Of D.X. Ferris' 33 1/3: Reign In Blood

If you want to read a sample chapter of D.X. Ferris’s 33 1/3: Reign In Blood book about Slayer‘s Reign In Blood Album, now’s your chance. All you have to do is send and email to slayerbook@gmail.com and Continuum (The publisher) will send you a .pdf file of the chapter “Angel Of Death“, the opening song off of the speed metal classic album.

Although Reign In Blood is not my favorite Slayer album, there is no denying that it’s one of their best. You can pick up the book on paperback for about 9 bucks at Amazon.com and it’s only 153 pages so it’s a pretty fast read.

Also available is the 33 1/3 paperback Black Sabbath Master Of Reality. Another book about a classic metal album.
