Exodus Post New Song And Track List On Myspace
Seems to me the only good thing about Myspace these days is hearing new tracks from bands with upcoming albums. Other than that, Myspace is pretty irrelevant as it tries more and more to be like Facebook. On to the story. Exodus have posted the tracklisting and a new song (Hammer And Life) from their upcoming album, Exhibit B: The Human Condition. Exhibit B is obviously the follow-up to 2007’s The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A. You can hear the new song on Myspace or you can actually download it on Nuclear Blasts Sinister Spring Slaughter for free from Amazon. Keep an eye out at Nuclear Blast’s Webshop for exclusive preorders and packages for Exhibit B. Tracklist after the fold. Read the rest of this entry »
Alex Skolnick Has Way Too Much Going On.
Alex Skolnick is a busy man. Between playing in Testament, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and The Alex Skolnick Trio, he’s got a lot on his plate. His current project, touring in support of the release of The Alex Skolnick Trio’s Last Day In Paradise will leave him absent from touring with Testament on Megadeth’s Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary tour with Exodus during March. He’ll also start touring with the Trans Siberian Orchestra towards the end of March for their first ever Spring tour, performing Beethoven’s Last Night in its entirety and songs from Night Castle.
Here is the ironic part, but not like an uncomfortable irony. Glenn Drover, former guitarist of Megadeth will be filling in for Skolnick on the tour. No doubt that Glen can handle this as he has filled in before and is completely competent in his abilities.

Hooked! Thrash Metal Edition Podcast
So, here it is, the Hooked! Thrash Metal Edition of the Hook In Mouth Podcast. Again, I’m all over the place between songs. I tried to minimize the “uhs’ and Ums” but shit, I can’t help it I guess. Also I’m a little stuffed up from allergies right now so I sound like a little kid.
Below is the track list of the songs and bands I played. Stay tuned in a couple of weeks for more thrash metal. I love it and it it’s timeless. That’s why there are so many thrash metal bands still out there. Not because it’s trendy but because thrash metal kicks ass like no other. This edition ran about an hour and 30 minutes [63.4 mb]. the Megadeth sample levels (from Amazon.de) are kind of loud but you get the point.
If you enjoyed the bands in this podcast, please buy the albums and go to their shows if they come to your local venues. Support the bands’; otherwise you’ll just have to listen to the garbage force-fed to you by the radio waves. Read the rest of this entry »
Get Sodom-ized

Sodom
When I was younger I used to pride myself on being a fan of thrash metal. The problem was that I really didn’t know that many thrash metal bands and being from a small town, it wasn’t easy to discover new and/or old thrash bands. Also the thrash era had kind of quieted down by that time and glam and grunge were pretty much the main bullshit in metal magazines. After that I started to get more into death metal. A few years later I turned to NY Hardcore bands and a few nu-metal bands that I thought were wroth a listen. It wasn’t until the last few years that I’ve started to move backwards. I’ve started liking death metal a lot more, even the incomprehensible vocal type of “Brutal” death metal. Along with my renewed faith and focus on death metal has come my diggin’ for thrash bands that I missed over the years. Kreator and Testament are two bands that I really love these days. Lately my new thrash metal love is the sound of German thrash metal vets Sodom. Read the rest of this entry »
Exodus's Tom Hunting's 10 Commandments
The Daily Rock conducted an interview with Exodus drummer Tom Hunting. The ask him to offer up his own Ten Commandments. At first he wants to pass, but he does a great job of thinking of some pretty funny, yet very good commandments on the spot. Check it out.
“Marisa Connelly of The Daily Rock conducted an interview recently with EXODUS drummer Tom Hunting before their show at The Chance in Poughkeepsie NY. Tom talked about the history of the band, their longevity, recording, personal matters and offered up his own 10 Commandments.
An excerpt from the chat is below:
I WATCH A LOT OF ANIMAL PLANET.
Yeah, me too.
I LOVE ANIMAL COPS, BUT THAT’S HARD [TO WATCH.]
Yeah, I always get pissed when I watch that show. Like how is this guy ever allowed [to have a pet]. It should be like a job, you should have to fill out a fucking application! You should have to have references! Read the rest of this entry »
