Hooked! Thrash Metal Edition Podcast

Hook In Mouth podcastSo, here it is, the Hooked! Thrash Metal Edition of the Hook In Mouth Podcast. Again, I’m all over the place between songs. I tried to minimize the “uhs’ and Ums” but shit, I can’t help it I guess. Also I’m a little stuffed up from allergies right now so I sound like a little kid.

Below is the track list of the songs and bands I played. Stay tuned in a couple of weeks for more thrash metal. I love it and it it’s timeless. That’s why there are so many thrash metal bands still out there. Not because it’s trendy but because thrash metal kicks ass like no other. This edition ran about an hour and 30 minutes [63.4 mb]. the Megadeth sample levels (from Amazon.de) are kind of loud but you get the point.

If you enjoyed the bands in this podcast, please buy the albums and go to their shows if they come to your local venues. Support the bands’; otherwise you’ll just have to listen to the garbage force-fed to you by the radio waves. Read the rest of this entry »

Fatal: "Metal Is The Law!"

You know what I really love about thrash metal? Lyrically, the bands don’t beat around the bush and make you think too hard. They just write balls-out metal that’s easy to headbang to and enjoy. With all the newer thrash bands bringing the old sound back and the old school thrash bands that are still touring, it’s reminded me why I fell in love with metal in the first place.

Checking out the Volume 11 calendar I saw this show and my friend Martin and I decided to check it out. It was only $6.00 so we figured why not? So we get there and there is no line and no one waiting outside the venue. We go inside and it’s empty. Of course it’s a Thursday night and it was only 8 o’clock, so we figured more would show. Yeah, about 5 others showed up. I killed some time by talking to Peter from Bloodsoaked, “The One Man Killing Machine” who is the sole member of his death metal band. He plays a D-tuned LTD with recorded drum tracks that he plays through the P/A on his iPod. I also talked with the lead guitar player from the opening band, Fatal. Read the rest of this entry »
