As most of you know Job For A Cowboy is currently on tour with Gwar and Lamb of God. Well I guess there seems to be a “family emergency” and they have to cancel some upcoming dates according to the following myspace announcement. I am going to the show on the 21st and to be totally honest I wasn’t looking forward to seeing them play. I hope everything is okay on their home-front but I’m kind of relieved that I won’t have to sit through their set. I’ve been sitting on some reviews for a bit just for the sole reason that time is short and reviews can eat a lot of it up. So here is a run down of some of the new or upcoming Metal Blade band reviews in the short and sweet.

As You Drown - Reflection

As You Drown – Reflection: Sweden’s As You Drown attempt at a death metal record is a good attempt. It’s heavy and sometimes melodic but the problem that arises is that these guys will get thrown in to the Deathcore pool because, well, they already have been compared to Whitechapel. They also don’t do a whole lot to set themselves apart from the deathcore bands and on top of that there is not a lot of variety in the music. It all kind of melds together at times. Job For A Cowboy have unleashed Ruination on the world today. Along with the record release comes the first video from Ruination. The opening track of the record is an indication what the rest of it is like. Nothing mind-blowing, but pretty damn good. Here is Unfurling A Darkened Gospel.
