Kataklysm ‘Push The Venom’

Kataklysm‘s new album, Heaven’s Venom comes out in a short week and a half. Though the band doesn’t try to push their boundaries, they have made another solid Kataklysm album. Here is their new video for the 4th song on the album, Push The Venom.

Maurizio Iacono: “After the crazy videos we did with EX DEO it was only natural for us to upgrade the KATAKLYSM visuals as well. We decided to try to recreate the underworld fantasy atmosphere depicted in the artwork with some great visual effects. The song is about surviving the judgment that others cast upon you, and that which is important and feels right to you. Spread your venom and not the lies of your enemies! Ivan did another fantastic job and we are super happy with it and hopefully you guys dig it too. See you on tour!”

You can preorder Heaven’s Venom at Nuclear Blast’s online store.

Review: Kataklysm – Heaven’s Venom

Kataklysm‘s 2008 release, Prevail, was easily one of my favorite albums of that year. So much that I named it as my favorite album of the year. Looking back I really don’t know what I was thinking with all the great albums that came out that year. While it was a great album, I don’t know to this day what made me choose it as my top pick of that year. It was the first full Kataklysm album I heard, only hearing a few songs from compilations before that. After that I bought 2006′s In The Arms Of Devastation, another great release by this band. Sadly, I have yet delve into the rest of Kataklysm’s back catalog. Read the rest of this entry »

This time around they are taking the U.K.’s Evile and Wisconsin’s Lazarus A.D. along with a few other supporting acts changing up in and out of the tour. I caught them on the first part of this tour with Exodus and it was everything I thought it could have been. If they come to a city near you, go check them out. You won;t be disappointed. The Scrap Metal Report 6/10/09

new-scrap-metal

Long, busy day and I’m beat. IN other words, this is all you’ll get tonight. Some interesting news going on today.

Blackened Fest, in case you didn’t read it on another metal blog, has been reduced to only Mayhem playing. Cattle Decapitation, Cephalic Carnage and Withered all dropped out after some crazy shit went down about people not getting paid. Mayhem is supposed to finish out the tour dates. They were going to finish it out as “Mayhem-Fest”, but Rock Star Energy threatened to sue. You can read the full story at Metal Injection.

Douche bags in various states are approaching bands at shows, claiming to be reps of Metal Blade or Nuclear Blast. They try to acquire band merch, get in to shows for free, make promises to the bands and even ask for deposit money from the band. I have a huge problem with this because, A) These guys are fuckin’ over hard working bands, B) These are obviously not REAL metal fans because of A.  and C) anyone that does that should be severely punished in any and every way possible. Sadly some bands are going to fall for this scam with hopes of getting their big break. Metal Blade and NB warn about these impostor here.

Bret Michaels broke his nose the other night. He said it’s a blessing in disguise because now he doesn’t have to smell the putrid stench coming from the crotch of the skanks, slags and sluts he’s slathering his ding-dong in every day. Yes, I said “Ding-dong”.

If your name is Jean-Francois Dagenais, Beware! The Kataklysm guitarist was detained by customs and questioned by federal agents after getting off the airplane from their return trip from Russia. His name matched the name of an internationally wanted fugitive by the same name. He was released after Interpol sent in a picture to the federal agents and it didn’t match.

Lastly, in case you missed it, Slayer is filming a video for an undisclosed track from their upcoming album.
