Who Will Replace Abigail Williams?

nile_tour09_admatSo Nile’s Those Whom The Gods Detest North American headlining tour kicks off tomorrow (Jan. 15th) and unless you are totally unaware, this line up kills. To me it does, but there was just one band that I didn’t have any enthusiasm to see. I saw Abigail Williams live one time, for a few songs anyway, and they were good. The problem is that I just can get in to them for some reason. I was prepared to check them out again and hope that maybe this time would change me, but that chance is gone.

Apparently Abigail Williams’ drummer, Ken Myers injured himself. No details on the exact injury, but the band has pulled out of this tour. Moving on, this just leaves me with one question; who will replace them? Will there be a replacement or will the other great bands on the bill just play a little longer. Either way, this is one of the first shows that I want to make this year and just one of many great tours that will be rolling around the world. Below are the tour dates. Krisiun: Sentenced Morning Video

To me, Krisiun is the answer to my longing for a classic Sepultura line-up reunion. So as long as their is Krisiun and as long as Max Cavalera keeps churning albums out like Soulfly’s Conquer and the Cavalera Conspiracy, I could give a shit if they ever reunite for at least a tour. I mean, it would be cool if that happened but I have a better chance of winning the powerball than that happening. So, we have Krisiun to fill that void and I’m happy with that. Here is Krisiun’s new video for the song Sentenced Morning, which comes off of their 2008 release Southern Storm.

Krisiun Performing In Raleigh, NC on October 2nd

Friday night’s show was great. it was a much better turn-out than I expected; of course the classic bands always seem to draw a bigger crowd in this area. Warbringer opened the show with ferocity as usual and had the energy to get the crowd ready for the bands to come. The Berzerker, a band I had only heard of, made quite the impact with the death metal/grindcore infusion from Melbourne, Australia. A bit loud but they put on a great show too.

Krisiun has a brand new fan. Another band that I had only heard the name and just never had the interest to pursue Krisiun. Damn, I’ve been missing out. Read the rest of this entry »
