Scrap Metal Report 2/9/10
Busy day today. Learnin’ the new job and then getting a tattoo finished. Let me tell you, if you have never got the inside fold of your elbow joint tattoo’d (the spot between your forearm and bicep), it hurts like a bitch. Anyway, after the eventful day, and me still very happy of the news about Dave Ellefson returning to Megadeth, I still felt like I needed to get a little bit of news up.
- Dave Ellefson spoke to Classic Rock exclusively and had quite a bit to say. Here is just a smidgen:
“So far, the reaction I’ve had from everyone has been overwhelmingly positive. I cannot wait to get back out there with Megadeth.”
- If you are a fortunate European, here is your chance to catch Bloodbath, live at Bloodstock 2010 on August 13-15, playing their set on the 13th in Derbyshire, UK. I think this is the first time they will be playing since the release of The Fathomless Mastery.
- The Red Chord and Black Label Society both lost their drummers. Oh and Trivium did too, but that’s old news.
- AC/DC are getting old as fuck and requested not 1 but 3 Oxygen tanks for their Melbourne Australia show. These guys have been touring their asses off since the release of Black Ice in October of 2008.
- Kreator have singed a deal with probably THE best metal label. Nuclear Blast has signed a long term deal with the German thrash metal veterans. I can’t wait for the follow up to Hordes Of Chaos.
- Lastly, DAATH have announced that they are working on a “Brand New Sound” for their next record coming this fall. I’m not quite sure yet what to think of this, but you can read more at Blabbermouth.
Collectively, these elements direct the left turns we have always chosen to take. This will not be ‘The Hinderers Part II’, ‘The Re-Concealers’, or ‘The Conhinderers’. This will be a brand new sound.
