It’s Official: Anthrax Added To American Carnage Tour.
It has been rumored for a couple of weeks now, even though we heard it straight from Mustaine’s mouth if you watched the video interview from 24ur.com. Dave Mustaine mentioned that Anthrax would be joining them on their American Carnage tour. A lot of people got excited to find out that they were going to see Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Testament all on the same stage. Unfortunately all the information wasn’t really put out there and people just assumed.
The whole story is this; Anthrax will be joining Slayer and Megadeth for the SECOND leg of the American Carnage tour. Testament will only be along on the first leg of the tour from July 23rd to September 4th. Blabbermouth.net “exclusively” reported the second set of confirmed dates for leg 2 of American Carnage. confirmed tour dates for both legs after the fold. Read the rest of this entry »
Alex Skolnick Has Way Too Much Going On.
Alex Skolnick is a busy man. Between playing in Testament, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and The Alex Skolnick Trio, he’s got a lot on his plate. His current project, touring in support of the release of The Alex Skolnick Trio’s Last Day In Paradise will leave him absent from touring with Testament on Megadeth’s Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary tour with Exodus during March. He’ll also start touring with the Trans Siberian Orchestra towards the end of March for their first ever Spring tour, performing Beethoven’s Last Night in its entirety and songs from Night Castle.
Here is the ironic part, but not like an uncomfortable irony. Glenn Drover, former guitarist of Megadeth will be filling in for Skolnick on the tour. No doubt that Glen can handle this as he has filled in before and is completely competent in his abilities.
Megadeth Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary Tour With Testament And Exodus!
All I can say is that I just had to change my pants. Here is the announcement from Megadeth.com. Tour dates after the fold.
Megadeth will join forces with Testament and Exodus for a month-long jaunt that will find these thrash titans crisscrossing the nation on the Rust In Peace 20th Anniversary Tour. These will be incredibly special shows that will delightMegadeth fans, as the band will be playing their landmark, genre-defining album, 1990’s “Rust in Peace”, in its entirety, in addition to other Megadeth set list favorites. The tour will kick off on March 1st in Spokane, WA and will run through the end of the month. MegaFanClub tickets presale will be held on Thursday, January 28th from 10AM to 10PM. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, January 29th
American Carnage Tour: Coming To A City Near You…And Not Me
I’m totally ready for the Endgame Tour coming this Saturday and just yesterday it was announced that Slayer and Megadeth fans will get their wish of bringing the Canadian Carnage Tour to U.S. soils. Properly titled The American Carnage Tour, Megadeth and Slayer are co-headlining and they are also dragging along bay area thrash legends Testament to top it all off. The only problem is that it’s only 26 dates and none of them are close enough for me to go. For everyone else that has the pleasure to make this, now is your chance to see history. I’m not angry or sad. I would love to see this tour but I’ve seen Megadeth, I’ve seen Slayer and I’ve seen Testament live. I would love to see them all on one tour and have one giant Metalgasm after another, but it’s not going to happen for me. Try to make it happen for you. Tour starts January 18th. It’s rumored right now that the final [26th] date will be in NY. Read the rest of this entry »

Lazarus A.D. Put On A Great Live Show
I love it when a show starts 30 minutes late for no apparent reason. Last nights show was like that, but once Lazarus A.D. kicked things off it was all good. If you’re not familiar with the Wisconsin neo-thrashers then you’re doing yourself an injustice. Their Metal Blade debut, The Onslaught is a really great thrash record for a time when being a modern thrash band seems to be the cool thing to do. Very few bands can pull it off without looking stupid and cheesy. Lazarus A.D. is one of those bands that can pull it off. Most of the crowd probably didn’t have a clue who they were but once they started playing, heads started banging and after a couple of songs the pit started moving pretty well. Here is their first video, Thou Shall Not Fear.
Off To See Testament

I’m off to see Testament, Unearth and Lazarus A.D. tonight. I’ll have more updates over the weekend.

Shawn Drover: New Megadeth is "100% Metal"
I’m sure you all know that Megadeth is currently recording an album that, according to a message from Shawn Drover, the band’s current drummer, is going to be good.
“I will reveal nothing on the style of these new songs — just know that they are 100% HEAVY METAL.”
That’s some news I love hearing!
Shawn says that he’s heading home for the holidays, but before leaving they managed to get some demo quality tunes to take in over the break. Word has it that Mustaine will have a few finishing touches before post-production begins. Will it be done before ‘Deth hits the road with Judas Priest and Testament in February?
In any case, I personally hope this album turns out more like Killing is My Business…, So Far, So Good… So What? and Rust In Peace. With statements like this coming from the band, that’s not unachievable!
