Do Metal Bands That Cover Pop Songs Do It For Attention?
This behavior would have probably been unacceptable by thrash and death metal bands between 1985 and 1995, but so many bands are doing it. The whole covering of pop-songs thing. Some do it and put forth a good effort while others just completely suck at it? Why do they suck at it? Because they are a metal band, damnit. Metal bands are allowed to write power ballads, but doing a pop cover is just a cry out for attention to get noticed. It’s that shock factor, that chance some bands take to get noticed on a higher level than what they currently play at. This is another one of those sad moments.
