Wormrot’s First UK Tour, European Tour Follows
My newest favorite in the handful of grindcore bands I listen to is Wormrot. The Singapore act is heading to UK for the first time for a run of dates followed by a full blow European tour. I guess North America is going to have to patiently wait it’s turn. Check out their debut EARACHE records album, Abuse. Tour dates and comments from Wormrot vocalist Arif after the fold. HOOKED! GRIND-CAST
Tonight’s podcast features a few grindcore classics and a few new ones. We were supposed to have a special guest, which was GroverXIII from TheNumberOfTheBlog.com. So I had things all set up so GroverXIII from TheNumberOfTheBlog would be on the podcast with me, but I royally screwed something up and it didn’t record. Instead I’ve posted a playlist with the songs I planned on playing in the podcast. Look for a blogcast in the future featuring writers from The Number Of The Blog and check out the blogcasts over there as well.
I think it is also important to note that 6 out of 7 of these bands are on EARACHE records, who seem to be the best outlet for grindcore of new and old. The UK label doesn’t fuck around when it comes to grindcore and the EARACHE founder, Digby Pearson knows good grindcore when he hears it. It’s no wonder that even after all these years, Earache is probably the best label for your grindcore needs.
Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!
Wormrot Will Abuse You
Grindcore, real grindcore that is, is for people like myself with short attention spans and occasional disregard for comprehensible lyrics. Earache Records in the past few years has been really mixing it up in their metal portfolio, signing bands that really don’t relate all that much to each other. One thing the UK label always prides themselves on and have always been fond of is grindcore.
Earache has been the host to some legendary British grincore bands such as Napalm Death, Carcass and Extreme Noise Terror. Napalm death just released a killer album in 2009 and Earache has been re-releasing the Carcass collection too. Lately they have been going international with grind by releasing Houston Texas’ Insect Warfare‘s Word Extermination and now Singapor’s Wormrot. Read the rest of this entry »
